Football Heros Speak

Some of footballs greatest heros speak about Jimmy.

Billy McNeill

McNeill, known as "Caesar", was arguably the greatest captain of Glasgow Celtic. He led the team to victory in the European Cup in 1967 and managed the club in the 1980s.

Brian Clough

Clough was one of the great managers of recent times and led Nottingham Forest to two European Cup triumphs in 1979 and 1980 . Sadly he died of stomach cancer at the age of 69.

John Robertson

John is currently assistant manager at Aston Villa. He has played for Nottingham Forest and Scotland and is famous for the winning goal he scored against England in 1981.

Sir Bobby Charlton

Charlton was awarded Footballer of the Year and European Player of the Year in 1966, the same year that he became a World Cup Winner with England.

Tommy Gemmell

Tommy Gemmell is one of the all-time Celtic greats. It was his trademark thunderbolt shot that brought Celtic their vital equaliser in the 1967 European Cup Final, and for that reason alone he is a huge favourite with supporters.
